Quantitative Brokers was founded in 2008 by Robert Almgren and Christian Hauff. After conducting in depth research and analysis, developing best practices and execution strategies, and forming strategic partnerships with industry-leading EMS/OMS providers and clearing firms, Quantitative Brokers was officially launched in 2010.
As a fully independent, FCM- and dealer-neutral, NFA and FINRA-registered broker dealer, we guarantee complete transparency and neutrality to our clients, which include asset managers, hedge funds, CTAs and banks. Our algorithms are available via 14 leading EMS/OMS providers and integrated with 18 major executing brokers. Quantitative Brokers is registered with both the CFTC and SEC as an independent introducing broker and a government securities broker. As a regulated market participant engaging in algorithmic strategies, we maintain stringent supervision and control practices.

Meet our People
President & Co-Founder
Robert oversees the firm’s quantitative research, analysis of best execution algorithms, and transactional cost measurement. Before founding Quantitative Brokers in 2008, Robert was Head of Quantitative Strategies in the Electronic Trading Services group of Bank of America Securities. He is currently a Fellow in the Mathematics in Finance Program at New York University. Robert has an extensive research record in applied mathematics, including several papers on optimal securities trading, transaction cost measurement, and portfolio formation.
CEO & Co-Founder
Christian oversees the firm’s product and business development. Prior to founding QB in 2008, Christian spent three years at Bank of America Securities as Head of Electronic Equity Derivatives and Head of E-Sales for Global Rates Currencies & Commodities. While abroad from his Australian homeland in 1999, Christian joined Barclays Capital’s IT Graduate Program in London. He spent the following year in Chicago working on electronic order entry with the firm’s Eurodollar and Treasury floor-brokers…and his fascination with futures and electronic brokerage was born. From 2001-2005, Christian worked in E-Commerce helping the firm design and launch electronic offerings in futures, fixed income, FX and commodities.
Head of Algorithmic Execution
Mahender leads algorithmic development and data analytics at QB. With over ten years of experience in algorithm and trading technology development, Mahender is key to ensuring that QB’s industry-leading algorithms provide best execution to our clients. Prior to joining QB in 2009, Mahender worked at Marshall Wace Asset Management, a leading quantitative hedge fund, where he developed best execution algorithms, back-testing technology, and analytics to create an automated trading environment on the US desk. He built a framework to measure broker performance and transaction costs, key statistics in QB’s stable of products.
Head of EMEA
Jonty is responsible for the firm’s EMEA client and product expansion efforts. He is instrumental in developing and delivering original, out-of-the-box solutions and strategies for benchmarking and achieving best execution. Before joining QB, Jonty was the Head of Trading Analytics at AHL where he established and led the analytics team. It was in this role where Jonty established himself as an algo trading expert through his background as an e-trading specialist and research analyst. He has worked closely with regulators in the US and Europe, and is widely recognized as a leader in research of the impact of regulatory changes arising from Dodd-Frank/EMIR/MiFID II.
