Quantitative Brokers Announces Promotions in Growing Global Research Team

NEW YORK, May 4, 2020Quantitative Brokers (QB), an independent provider of advanced execution algorithms and data-driven analytics for global futures and interest rate markets, today announced new appointments in its research team leadership amidst increasing market coverage and new exchanges coming to market for the firm’s algorithmic solutions. Effective immediately, Dr. Robert Almgren assumes the newly created office of Chief Scientist and Dr. Shankar Narayanan steps in as the new Head of Research.

Robert, a Co-Founder of QB, takes on the new full-time position of Chief Scientist while continuing to serve as QB’s President as well as a member of both QB's Board and Executive Committee. His new appointment positions Robert to build on his role as a thought leader and advisor to QB’s important research efforts. As Chief Scientist, Robert will have the support needed to increase his focus on the pivotal research and whitepapers critical to QB’s leading positioning in the best execution industry. Robert continues to teach High-Frequency Trading at Princeton University.

As QB’s new Head of Research, Shankar Narayanan, who had served as Head of Trading Research since joining the company in 2017, assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of all aspects of QB’s research team as well as coordination and collaboration with other QB divisions. Additionally, Shankar joins QB’s Executive Committee while continuing to contribute the insightful market microstructure research for which he is known.
